A comprehensive modernisation program is providing our volunteers with safe, modern vessels, purpose-designed and equipped for rescue operations.
These boats are fitted with state-of-the-art navigation, communication, search and rescue and first aid equipment, including lifesaving automatic defibrillators and oxygen therapy.
In addition, a small fleet of Rescue Watercraft is also available and maintained by qualified volunteer crews.
The rescue vessels are berthed on ‘Boat Lifts’ on the unit’s jetty at Point Clare and are always ready for use. Boat crews are either on duty at the base or on call 24/7.
The Point Clare base is the training centre for the unit. It is located in Goodaywang Reserve at the end of Kurrawa Avenue and has on site parking. The base is air-conditioned and has it own 9Kva emergency diesel generator to ensure continuous coverage.
